Oye' Stacks!!
I now have my brown squared - on to colored squares. The sorting and the stacking is so visually pleasing to me, (and my OCD) that I tend to take pause and enjoy this stage before I get to start working on each one. I have never done this many at once, so its important for me to have a system in place. I am going to print some backgrounds and then I will be on to working on them individually to finish them.

You are not alone, I too like to see stacks like these! Who knows why?
I'm pretty new to this whole working on more than one piece at a time, and I'm amazed at how much of what we do is not the "art" part, it's the prep...for me it's ironing, cutting, (& cutting & cutting), fusing, and then lots of boring construction sewing...somewhere in there I make a little art! So it's a good thing that the little things like a stack of half finished work gives us joy!
