John and I both donated work to Inspired Art this year.  The artist get to pick a poem and create a piece that related to the poem.  This is the one that I did.  It's the first piece of artwork I have finished since last summer.  It was nice to have a reason to get the ink back out and get my hands dirty.   The artwork will be auctioned of (via silent auction) at the Space Gallery off of SanteFe.

I have been able to fill a few orders this holiday season.  I had a group of prints that were mailed together, but as soon as I had a friend go to the post office for me I had 2 more orders to fill.  Still a month after my surgery I can't drive.  I scrounged thru my house looking for all the random stamps that I could find and then I put them in my mailbox with a letter to the postman to please

I did a project for Civic Center park about 2 years ago. It was a public annoncement type of job to tell residents that they were cleaning up the local, downtown park. This park needs funding because it is not funded by the state. When working on this with Cultivator i assumed the biggest these would be was mayb 3 feet by 5 feet lamp post banners to hang around downtown. I got an FB message

i captured some beautiful images with my newest iPhone AP called Hipstomatic while we were on a road trip for Spring Break. I thought i would share my favorite 40. We went to Roswell, New Mexico to see some Aliens and then Carlsbad Caverns (just 15 miles from the border of Texas and 30 to Mexico) Great 90 degree weather, but very windy. 1250 miles in 4 days. It was glorious!

i (finally) finished a series of 9 pieces to be hung in my friends babies room. They have a new baby named Otto - and i was so pleased to have found a vintage dr. suess book - "a fish out of water" - where the fishes name is Otto. it was perfect for the occassion. how lazy am i - i have had 9 pieces sitting in a stack waiting to be hung in my living room for almost A YEAR! dreading making 9 perfect measurements to make them hang perfect. and all for nothing. I actually just used push pins because the pieces arent heavy - and then my holes were a lot smaller if i needed to tweak them one side to another. It only took about a half an hour.... and i LOVE

We decided to make posters and tshirts to raise money for Tooties surgery fund. Tootie is our 4 year old Boston Terrier who has developed cataracts in both eyes. We have been referred to a specialist in time to regain her sight (with pricey surgery) Given her age - we have to give her a chance to be able to see again. Last week at a soccer game a friend gave us some awesome BARACK OBAMA pins they had made at a pin party in the neighborhood. i LOVED the idea and wanted more to hand out to my friends. Its 1:04 AM... i have been packing ALL DAY! first thing this morning we played tetris with all the tupperware, walls, etc. and we were able to get everything into 1 car. BUT, us. well - there was TIGHT room for 5 and the weight limit is 1300lbs. we were close, you could tell. my tires were sagging. it didnt look good. we thought about it all day and by 7PM - with just 20 minutes of daylight.

All of my work has multiple layers of printing. Especially my large pieces. I work and work on those to get the perfect texture - which means the perfect mistake, that looks beautiful - that i cant duplicate (unfortunatly) There are so many factors when printing this way. The color and texture of the ink, the weather - hot? dry? humid? cold?, and then which screen i use - and which pencil.

To throw a party is many hours of stress, lots of money and time. In the hours leading up to the party, i always wonder if i will do this again - cause how could i... im exhausted and drained. I now have my brown squared - on to colored squares. The sorting and the stacking is so visually pleasing to me, (and my OCD) that I tend to take pause and enjoy this stage before I get to start working on each one. I have never done this many at once, so its important for me to have a system in place. I am going to print some backgrounds and then I will be on to working on them individually

I am winding down on my house pieces. I LOVE doing the house series. I liked what I had started completing last week, and then on thursday we took a last minute vacation to see family. When I got back sunuday night I looked over my work to familiarize myself to it again and i LOVE my pieces. I am going to have a hard time parting with some of these.

I have that nice pile of (mostly sanded) wood - now its time to screen print it all solid brown. I printed 114 this evening - with another 80 to go. THEN i get to start on new bird pieces. i can't wait to see how they will change and turn out.
